Brand new album from Anvil Salute on LoFi Shit - funnily enough, they claim that it's their "finest sounding release to date". Parts of it use the same wonderfully serene folk stylings of New Crusaders with weaving guitars and lovely clarinet playing, while others are closely akin to free jazz, with sax and lots of percussion clatter; more rhythmic, energetic, while remaining very clear in every component. This is just a badass (although seriously underrated) instrumental band: they make things seem so easy, fusing and superimposing without even a hint of pain. Honest advice? Buy all their records, make love to the sound. Totally ungeneric, near impossible to pin down, but nice and well crafted; lots there to get lost into.
