Jus' doing my bit for the dubstep hype machine... Not your typical dubstep, though nothing overly sophisticated either - only a proof of what can come out the most minimal technology today (Sound Forge wave editor, ahem?) in London. Burial's identity is yet unknown (kind of weird for the size of dubstep community), but whoever mentioned Photek along the lines was very close, cause this has got the same sparseness, the same dark/nostalgic mood, the same processed vocals, the overall deceiving looseness & simplicity of sound, and it's dubbed right up. I could go on and on about it, but right now I'm more curious about what others think...

very neat dubstep, but it's so static. ill keep it, it might be one of those growers yeah yeah. it never gets any less weird talking to Romanians (sorry, Republicans :) in English

oh yes, massive grower.
passed me by the first time, but the snatches of songs stuck in head and now i can't get it out of my headphones.

we can talk romanian anytime, but it's kind of a game and i always enjoy not taking the first shot :P

It's brilliant. As to the identity, I'd say it's Kode9. But anyway...Brilliant.

Hi caught your post of this (Burial - Burial) at FunkyS...s (so seemed a fitting place to leave a comment) and saw you had a blog.
I was expecting a Dubstep blog but I'm glad to see it isn't*.

Great choices of music to share.

*I myself was about to either add more posts or open a 2nd blog to encompass the IDM, Illbient/Minimal, Tech House (Smak House, Morphine House, Comatose? O.D.? Got-a-bit-of-a-flu-today House or whatever the 'in' genre term is for a slower paced dance music this week), Trip-Hop (again whatever the term for say Spank Rock or T3ch Nin3 is (even Tek 9 who are of course different but pretty good, along the lines of the Def Jux / Big Dada styles of ?Hip-Hop? I dunno, I so hate media given tags to music that just IS I purposelly don't memorise them .. maybe I would if I were a music journalist or worked in a record shop (yep shop not store, I'm from the U.K.) oh also I would also share another favourite genre Turntabilist/ism (Fingathing - (double bass & decks!! amazing), Q-Bert(I.S.P) etc..
Anyway that side of musical genres (in that order of preference/ near proportional ratio) but as you are doing an admirable job here and I'm finding MANY more 'new' tunes (in respect to my own aural horizon expanding) this all leads to a question (honest, these ramblings are intended to go somewhere :) )

Q/ I would like to 'add' you to my selective, (all of 1 so far, which is out of date/to be updated and I have more to add now I have had an HTML 'breakthrough' recently) 'Friends Blogs' listings*
(*I think that would be better renamed 'Recommended Blogs' because 'Possible Future Friends Blogs if we keep in contact and get to know each other enough to say Friend' just dosen't roll of the tongue, more off the monitor.

Please excuse the tangents, all very albatross.

Drop by and see if you'd even want to be affiliated with such a place as mine/ours/theres...

Peace

hmm shall I delete the above and just ask
May I add you to my 'Suggested Blogs' listings? that I am about to develop.
But then you'd think I was too cool to talk utter sh1te on purpose...
The purposeful part was to explain my angle btw :)

btw I/we (A friend I met at Funkys from Russia helps me greatly with the blog. In fact without him It may have ended just before Xmas but oddly its exploded beyond what I expected with the niche genre I specifically choose in a way to premote by doing my little bit such as giving all the stuff away... hmm?? ;)

The music is Breakcore, Dark Side D'n'B, mainly 'stranger/heavier IDM/Glitch core and recently (due to the weather and my insistence of posting it) Dubstep.

The words Drum & Bass and Breakcore/Jungle/Raggacore could conjure up an image of us as hoody, baseball cap types with a possible Cockney accent and tendencies to commit crime because 'theres nothing else to do' but the reason for the genres couldn't be further from that.
I am an AudioScience Student and see Music from an angle that could best be described as a tool. A switch direct to an emotional response.
And also Breakcore as a new jazz with a Punk philosophy as with Jungle/Raggacore, Dubstep having roots from Reggae and further.

I could spend another hour of your time but hopefully I've sketched an image that has less hoodies and baseball caps.
Oh 1 more thing (I'd like your opinion if you'd offer it).
I.D.M. ?
If I had my way, would be called Cerebral Dance Music rather than implying all other music to be "Un'I.D.M." :) but maybe the I.D.M. tag in it's self was chosen to balance out the field of Intelligent/Unitelligent genres as I.D.M. listeners may not understand Cerebral Dance Music due to a limited intelligence thus canceling out the original instant defense of all other music NOT being intelligent...

Hmm Aural-Virus, words certainly are..

btw check the blog, I don't speak like this at all there in fact anywhere except then.. ;)
