Last year's most unexpected of surprises... came to blow my fragile little socks away. The work of a single artist kicking off his private record label; it's a project based around obsessions of Russian history and shortwave radio stations. Moody, dark, intense, yet strangely melodic instrumentals, forming "an environment that is confortable yet unnerving... like a good suspense-thriller". Think along the lines of Cinematic Orchestra meet Godspeed You Black Emperor! meet Sixtoo. Guitars & drums are particularly good, so... play it loud.
