People asking me how do I find new music, new artists. Aside from a few helpful webzines and forums, yes, I just follow labels. You can't really do that with the majors, of course, but smaller labels with a well-defined aesthetic are less likely to let you down. Early examples for me would be Mo' Wax and Ninja Tune, going through Anticon and Morr Music, which rarely steered me wrong; but times change and taste follows, so I mostly stick to Bully, Arable, Leaf, and Type lately. There, I've said it - go on now and make your own fancy blog. Not before I let you in on Miasmah, the perverted netlabel threatening to go after our money. Run by Deaf Center member Erik Skodvin (also signed on Type), it concentrates on more organic sounds, in the fields between film scores and alternative atmospherics, trying to find "music for scenes and places". You may as well think of something somber/ moving/ tranquil/ neo-classical, and indeed, finding exactly what you expected rarely feels as positive. After Silva and Plexus II, this is their 3rd "real" installment. Taking off...
