Detroit born neo-soul singer. He's spent 12 years playing with the P-Funk Allstars, worked with Prince as well as people at the jazzier end of Detroit tech, etc. Album's a lot of fun, more electronic/programmed than, say, D'Angelo. Some tracks have even a vaguely garage/housey feel. But like D'Angelo, he has a great voice and references many soul singers while still somehow sounding like himself. Guests include George Clinton, Raphael Saadiq, Jay Dilla...
