Awaiting for Keniff's new album Eingya due out on Type (where's that advance copy ffs?), I shall bless the blog with his first one as Helios. Not completely astounding cause of many possible references (cue usual BoC/Eno comparison), but I find it to be very worth respecting. It's got a start, a middle, an end, and a lot of variety. Somewhere between pain and painkillers.

Those who mistake ambient music for an endless tapestry of unwavering atmosphere, pleasant yet indistinguishable, should be handed as an argument to the contrary this CD. Through 13 tracks of inarguably pretty music, Keith Keniff's displays the musical equivalent of a genius screen actor, able to send a million moods and messages with the most subtle of facial gestures.
