Oren Ambarchi
In the Pendulum's Embrace
Touch 2007

01. Fever, a Warm Poison
02. Inamorata
03. Trailing Moss in Mystic Glow

Firstly, typical Ambarchi tones and drones, and we know he's a bit of one trick pony when it comes to tones and drones. But with this release he's added some great other elements... 'Fever, a Warm Poison' sounds like Ambarchi in a glory hole with Dylan Carson whilst Bohren & der Club of Gore pay for peeping privileges. 'Inamorata' is typical Ambarchi but with added strings, gorgeous so it is... could be even longer than 10:19 for me. 'Trailing Moss in Mystic Glow' is more Ambarchi tones, but with a sort of free folk sing-and-strum-along type playing. Cuts a bit abruptly, which is weird and sad - what a bloody great track to end on, running at almost 13 minutes.

And that's kind of it. If you're new to Oren Ambarchi, pick up his most captivating work right here, buddy boy/girl. If you're a big, big fan, wait a couple months more, until the vinyl with a bonus track comes out. Actually, does anyone reading this actually buy vinyl? Perhaps I should do a poll. In any case, you've been forewarned.
