"Savage", as in raw/crude; "Aural" - audible; "Hotbed" - fertile/inventive. Unique, catchy, self-describing title, and straight to the point. Almost 'too' straight and serious to bear with, though that should come from dedication and the sort of unreserved enthusiasm (some) professionals are known for. This is, undoubtedly, the purest, most authentic, most refined Industrial record I have laid my ears upon. The "theory" being: if you hit an object with another object (or your body), you can move the soundwaves - sculpt the air the way you want to. "And if sculpting the air in a melodic or rhythmic way is music, then it's absolutely music". Remember the Björk flick where she danced to all the funk and rhythm of heavy machinery? That was actually the first time I've seen/heard such things being musically utilized (save for a couple 'edgy' albums when some samplers hit the market), and so, finding the same infectious, mathematical, full-on metallic boogie was too welcome here. These guys have everything: grinders, drills, power saws... springs, coils, microwaves... an empty cement truck mixer? Anything that clangs, works. Loud sound, meant to be played accordingly. It could shake whole friggin stadiums if you ask me. Best then, put away the headphones - feel it in your bones. And look out for the sparks!
