Raglani is a St. Louis artist playing sine/square wave generator, analog modular synth, acoustic guitar, melodica, bamboo flute and electronics. Good to see such listing since you would've easily mistaken this for pc-type processing. The 5 pieces here are a pretty varied bunch, uneasy to describe. Relatively long ones, with just enough going on. There's a dense, noisy, multi-layered side to be discovered, and a very subtle one too. It sorts of balances between moods, textures and all things experimental, and that's perhaps the nicest aspect (Birchville Cat Motel fans better recognize). Clever and quite fresh, we have another name to watch.

Arguably the most beautiful and undisputedly the most melodic Gameboy release ever, this disc combines lustrous synthesizer work with beautiful guitar lines and a chorus of accompanying electronics and instruments to tell an "Odyssey"-like instrumental tale of a man's heart and its direct relation to the rush of the tides. -GMBY
