Judging by what I've read, this one has been recorded very quickly, during a single session in the Swedish countryside. "A few intense days of playing, eating, drinking and discussing the meaning of life resulted in many hours of improvised music, which was edited down without any overdubs to form the album". Sure, I can see them guys inside a cottage, the view of the landscape peering through the window... Inside, a few cups of tea, and then it's all samplers, synths, trumpet, bass, drums, guitars. With that set-up, you're not really gonna "change the game", but at least try something new and challenging, after long years of touring and performing. Opening tracks 'Fooj' and 'Sintjom' give a taste of what's ahead: spacious, restrained electro-jazz, skillful work with rhythmic structures, and the finest attitude towards melody (yes, "melody" precisely, not to confuse with "melodism"). At times, their improvisation is so incredibly together that it feels as composed music; and at other times it's whirling into air without a definite sense of direction. Either way, it never gets painful or irritating. And it's very well recorded - you can hear every little detail.
