It's been suggested that there's need for more vocal(-ish) albums on this blog. Maybe so, though I'm not known for showing patience or any specific interest in the stories, teachings, and laments of most. Usually too, I would avoid most "The" bands right away. It's only now, for some strange reason, that I do wish a band was sporting the "The" prefix. Picture it: "New album by The Tunng!". "The Tunng are finally back". "The Tunng rock!". "We love... The Tunnnng", and so on. But nevermind.

About a year ago in Maryland, whilst we were walking back from someone's grave, was when we first fell deep in love with the Tunng. Me and his family, getting our sorry asses in the car, putting Comments of the Inner Chorus on and shutting mouths up for the next half an hour. We did that twice, in fact, in the same comfortable, companionable manner. His mother made, eventually, the "warm and soulful" comment; quite a nice conclusion to something we all felt dealt with sadness/loss. Enough to tell you why the Tunng are special; why they're able to transcend mundaneness, our own fears, or even sinistry, embracing them with the appropriate words. "It's okay", coos soothingly a chorus, "we're all going to end up dead and gone". Hey, guess Thom Yorke could learn a trick or two here. Guess arrows are only as good as their aim.
