In case you haven't overdosed on David Schafer (no, seriously - I'm quite sure I could have), here's a little extra to finish the job. Take a good look at the track titles, and the note on the cover saying "Greatest Sacred Cargo Cult Television Theme Songs of All Time"... I might as well write down the shortest review: "M'Lumbo really cover the greatest sacred cargo cult television theme songs of all time". But the fact is, M'Lumbo cover anything from every era and musical history worldwide. Ok, it's tricky to describe: part African, part Western; part 'found' sound, part improvisation, lots remix. Classical and pop, jazz, funk, psych guitar solos - loaded with instruments, loaded with samples. Just very, extremely... loaded. Devolving and evolving, and mostly recorded live (!) on stages of The Knitting Factory, St. Ann's Cathedral and a studio. I have to admit I first approached this thinking of some gimmick, but it now ranks pretty close to Classic Erasmus Fusion, as an ever greater-overlooked source of surreal juxtaposition. And I urge everyone to at least give it one listen.
