«...Part of a trilogy made up of kdi dctb 151 (see Bremsstrahlung Recordings), kdi dctb 039 & kdi dctb 180 (TBR). Another piece about childhood memories composed only with field recordings made in various places visited from 1994 to 2007: acoustic spaces, sound objects, sound auscultations, bits of soundscapes... Microphone and recorder as the primary tools. It's sometimes good to make a pause, seat and take a look at the past - then, some sound fragments may appear... our sound memory.»

Project of sound-artist Cédric Peyronnet, known also for his Cynistrose/Kaon affiliations. Already well past his twenties, this Frenchman deals with field recording and phonography, carrying out much time away from stressful urban environments to "make a pause" in favor of remote provincial regions. He brought out more than 40 works in different shapes and sizes (including on labels Duebel, Taalem, Kokeshidisk, Drone Records, Staalplaat, GMBH, Absurd and so forth), albeit they all do not bear any names - only ordinal numbers. Here is #039, his 3-inch minidisc encompassing recordings added in a 13-year timespan, hence its "sound memory" narrative.

Thx very much for this! Toy Bizarre is wonderful.
aww man, love it when this happens.
i take it that you're a long time visitor, and thus feel entitled to speak up... yes, you are. but really, wouldn't that be exactly why your accusation of "changing the face" now comes as a bit ridiculous? if you were a cookshop fan since day one, you'd be first to know this was a sort of natural progression, post by post, coupled with a lack of significant releases on the part of hip-hop/electronic-based artists. i didn't suddenly become interested in drone or electroacosutic music simply 'cause i've heard it's hip ("LOL"?).
now i don't know precisely what you mean by "freak music".. admittedly, the sounds may well not be on everybody's emo alley; they may not be pre-cooked for easy swallowing. but implying quality where it's obviously only a matter of taste and mishandling does nothing but to show your ignorance.
allow me to also say the cookshop's never had a bigger traffic & number of downloads than recent. which probably speaks for itself...
if there's anything you'd like to add, please tell it to your cheap bitch on the street.
if it wasn't for his horrid english, i'd have thought it's just another soccer fan mad at the brits for losing their qualifiers :))
those brits mostly had wank players anyway...
my point was to say that hating is so pathological! whether in sports or music or about anything else...
and besides, moldova had wank players too :))
yes we all know that, but we also know it's not moldova that invented soccer :)
oh and hating is easy, no wonder the pathology.
It is bizarre, I don't get it; but it probably doesn't matter anyway. I listen to too much music, and I am still thrilled to visit this blog, almost every post is very interesting to me, and there is usually at least one revelation a week...not bad!
In other news: does anyone know if the artist behind Toy.Bizarre (Cédric Peyronnet) died not long ago? Please: do not allow this to spread as a rumour! I remember hearing news of someone's untimely death, almost certainly someone well-known from the Kaon camp, but I cannot find the source, and all my searches for Toy.Bizarre do not mention this.
