Die Schachtel is proud to present Angelo Petronella, a talented composer who has been working as a sound artist for many years, and has developed a very personal vision on the narrative qualities of acousmatics, which he pursues with millimetric precision and obsessive passion. In "Sintesi da un Diario" (Abstract from a Diary), he has created a rich and complex soundscape made of distant and future memories, imaginary places and countless possible stories.
Second addition to the 'ZEIT' series, "dedicated to the freshest and more innovative musicians coming from Italy"... A 'diary' of careful detail and research, between manipulated electronics, field recordings, drone and tape music. Crazy stuff, no two tracks are the same, and the extensive use of voices (dialogues, kids playing, etc.) creates a very dense, surreal environmental maze. Made me think of Luc Ferrari, whose post-mortem album Son Mémorisé was originally recorded in rural Italy, and who, unsurprisingly, has staged a piece known as Journal Intime. This will especially appeal to Luc's fans and those of 'musique concrete', as well as anyone occasionally enjoying having brains messed up ("oh, don't we all"). No risk, no fun. No bullshit.

on a closer listen, some patterns do stand out, so my "no two tracks are the same" comment may not be entirely valid.. ahem.
