Now these guys have long been leaders of the pack in Australia, with their twisted, loopy, sampladelic, multicultural perversions. The first aussie hip-hop group to get a US deal, they're more of an eclectic background of characters (Maltese, Macedonian, Indian, Pakistani, Maori), wearing silly costumes at shows and frantically sampling anything that comes in hand. I'm not that much into rap records these days (although some of my favourite tracks are rapped), and paranoid-socio-political-revolutionary nonsense usually bugs me out the most. Thankfully though, CoD is not your Non Phixion. They still have that punk attitude, they still have outstanding production - but they amuse, entertain, and are clever enough not to take themselves too seriously. In the end, it's making something that works on different levels, cause like Koala said, "you can never escape your influences, you can never escape your genetics, the music that your parents listen to when you're growing up".
