Again a striking piece of Swedish music - this time from a Gothenburg trio of... what looks to me as high-school kids? Striking for the same reason that made past Colleen/Matinee Orchestra releases so special - the kind of romantic, nonchalant naivety, as gentle and simple as it is powerful. All seven instrumentals have a delicate melody, carefully distilled from analog and digital equipment (check their homepage for recording sessions photos); each has been written & arranged with their bare essentials, to let the sound shine. The whole thing flows so effortlessly, you'd be tempted to dismiss it as lacking substance; but then it sticks in your brain and good luck getting it out. Cliché: this music holds something timeless and, uh, so scandinavic - couldn't be from any other place.
