"Between Neck & Stomach" is grounded on two chore elements: the first is the material collected during the unique experiment of turning a house into "a living creature with its own voice" (just one example: a synth emitting one continuous note shaking a cupboard filled with pots, pans and plates); the second core element is the choice of just one thematic note per song, around which each track is built and balanced.

Andrea has been playing drums since 13 years ago - enough time to get bored, as you can see, of the conventional ways. His love for percussion & electronics is quite obvious on this short but insightful album, both conceptually and technically: the acoustic sounds are treated as if they were electronic, while the actual electronic ones are played at the very moment. Like Forest Jackson before, Andrea takes an own way of pushing and diversifying sound, making full use of detail, plus various intruments (harmonica, accordion, guitar); what really grabs you from the start though is the ambience: truly unique. In some parts I've almost recognized Cilio's touch, but much more undefined and loose - somewhat more 'imperfect' but still playing with depth. Of course, 'cause it's today's music: loaded with techniques, new ways, more and more instrumentation; analog and digital, laptop editing and noise... It's for this kind of artists that I keep my blog anyway. Have a listen.
