Terry Riley
In C
Ars Nova 2007

01. In C [55:17]

Terry Riley's masterpiece "In C" - the work with which American minimalism signed its name in the history book of music. From Copenhagen comes a fresh version recorded for the first time by voices and mallet instruments.

Might as well stop blogging for a week, after this one. Timeless, precious music, worth its weight in gold. And you don't even need eBay - just Denmark's "Ars Nova".

Hey thank you for this version. I´m having his original and a Bang of a Can version. This sounds interesting!

thanks so much for this. I've wanted to hear this for ages, i've heard acid mother's temple version, and i heard Terry's Persian Surgery Dervishes, which is a real headtrip. Floating for days.

I already have this one, but let me second your comments belatedly and add a hell-yeah to those: this is hands-down the finest version of "In C" I've heard, on all available terms...great stuff. Also recommended is the kind of psychedelic-funk-bigband version on one of those Organ of Corti discs...I think it's on Reed Streams / Olsen III. But this one is beauty-incarnate. Also some of my fave choral music ever, maybe.
